Greek God Of Chance

broken image

Tyche was the ancient Greek goddess of fortune, chance, providence and fate. She was usually honoured in a more favourable light as Eutychia, goddess of good fortune, luck, success and prosperity. Tyche was depicted with a variety of attributes-a rudder, ball, the infant Plutus (Wealth) and a cornucopia. Her Roman name was Fortuna. Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, was jealous of her intelligence, so she sent her brother, Eros, the god of love, to strike Psyche with one his love-arrows so that she may fall in love with her brother, Eros.
